Tis the Season

Mike and I have officially spent our first Christmas together as husband and wife. It couldn't have been a more perfect Christmas. Almost two weeks ago I finished up my last semester of school for my Bachelors Degree. Yay! I am finally a college grad! After 4 1/2 years of hard work I can finally say I am finished. It feels great! My plan is to go back to graduate school next fall, but for now it is going to be so nice to have that extra time to spend with my hubby :) He, of course, will be super busy next semester with school but that's alright. At least I will have time to come home and do some cooking and laundry after work just like a wife :) I am excited to have some free time. Right after we finished our finals we took off up to Snowboard Ski Resort and spent the week up there with Mike's family. Mike's family has a condo up there so we spent the week with his mom, step-dad, brothers, and their wives. It was so much fun! We spent a few days snowboarding and the rest we spent being lazy. It was awesome being up there with his family. I love my new sisters! Aren't they so pretty? We love our boots :)
The whole week we were up at the condo all it did was snow! Everyday, nonstop. I loved it! There was so much snow we had to dig out our cars.

This Christmas we were able to spend time with all our family. My mom even flew into town to celebrate Christmas with us here this year. It couldn't have been more perfect.  I hope everyone had as good of Christmas as we did! Happy New Year!

The Beginning to Our Happily Ever After

On November 12, 2010 at 10:20 am I was married and sealed to my best friend, the love of my life, and now my eternal companion. He is now the one who will love me, take care of me, deal with my bad days and enjoy the good days with me. He is the one who will go to bed with me every night and wake up with me every morning. He is the one who will take care of me when I am sick and who will rescue me from my fears. He is the one who I will pray with, laugh with, raise a family with, and grow old and make all my memories with. The one who I am bound to for all time and eternity...my new husband Michael John Smith.

I cannot describe how amazing our wedding day was! I am sure it is how every girl feels on the day she is married to her best friend and the love of her life. I never knew I could be so happy as I was on that day. Mike continues to make me so happy every day and I am only falling more in love with him. He is so goofy and I have never had more fun with anyone else.

It has almost been 4 weeks since our wedding day. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. 2 weeks ago we were cruising the in the Western Caribbean on our honeymoon. O how I wish we could live forever on vacation without any worries of going to school and work, but we can't so we lived it up for 8 days on the Liberty of the Seas. Our ship took us to Costa Maya, Belize, Cozumel, and the Cayman Islands. Cozumel and the Cayman Islands were definitely my favorite. We had so much fun snorkeling in Cozumel. The water was so blue! In the Cayman Islands we went swimming with the sting rays! I won't lie, I wasn't scared until we got in the water and sting rays were swimming all around us, brushing right up against our legs. Mike had the privilege of carrying me on his back for awhile :)

Last week was my birthday and I was able to spend it with my new husband who brought me home flowers. Keep in mind he is against flowers because they die so fast, but he brought them home to me anyways. He also went to Olive Garden with me 3 times in 4 days because it is my favorite place to eat. He said that is the last time we will be going there for a year. :) This week we are back to real life and preparing for final exams. I graduate this semester though, hurray!! And I am so excited to spend my first Christmas with my new hubby. We have this tiny little Christmas tree that fits our new apartment just right. I am obsessed with Christmas music right now too. Just a little suggestion....Christina Aguilera's Christmas CD is amazing! If you like her you will love her Christmas CD.  Also, in the spirit of Christmas, Mike and I went to the Christmas Devotional at the Conference Center this past Sunday with some friends. It made me realize how lucky we are and how grateful I am for all we have. This Christmas I have a new husband and a new family to enjoy the holidays with. What more do I need?

1 Week, 4 Days!!

Okay so I'm finally making my second post, not too bad after 2 months of chaos (planning a wedding, working, and going to school). I should be doing homework too since that has become the lowest priority these days but I can't seem to get myself to do it. All I can think about these days is WEDDING WEDDING WEDDING.  We are officially on the countdown...tomorrow will only be 1 week and 4 days until we become Mr. & Mrs. Smith! I can't believe how close it is! Mike and I were saying yesterday how a few months before we were even engaged we wondered how nice it would be to finally be married....and it is almost here!! Everything is just about done...a few little tiny things here and there but the big stuff is ready so PLEASE COME FAST! :) Everyone says to enjoy this time planning, but I really cannot wait until Mike and I are officially the Smith's. I will not miss driving home late at night or being so tired I force Mike to sleep on the floor cause he has been so sweet and given me his bed. We are ready to start the next chapter of our lives together no matter what it brings. We look forward to newlywed fights, early bedtimes, new recipes (whether it be disastrous or successful), and all the beginnings of a new marriage. Here is a sneak peek of our bridal pictures we took last week-

The other night I had the worst dream about our wedding though, which is hear is normal, but I was convinced it was real until I woke up. Let's just say nothing was done for the wedding and Mike showed up in a T-shirt and shorts to the wedding....yes it was much worse but I will spare you the details. I know our wedding won't be perfect, but hopefully Mike will at least be in his tux :)

This past Halloween weekend we got to hang out with some friends and see a movie and dress up for a Halloween party. I am so grateful for all of our great friends we have in our lives and I know we will continue those friendships in the many years to come. Here is a picture of our Halloween costumes. Next year we are going to be Adam and Eve when I have the time to create a costume for us!
I probably won't post again until after the wedding. I am convincing myself the next week and 4 days will be filled with so much stuff that the next thing I know the wedding is here :) and we can officially post as Mike and Whitney Smith.

Here We Are!

Okay so this is officially the first blog post of our life! I wanted to start early before our wedding so I could write about our adventure up until the day we offically become Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I couldn't be happier marrying the most amazing guy in the world! This past weekend we went to Arizona together to visit my mom. We also got to visit our friends Stetson and Holly too. We went to lunch, went shopping, watched the BYU football game, and Holly and I made dinner. It was such a fun day being able to hang out and laugh with such great friends. Mike and I went shopping and found some cute things to decorate our new apartment in Draper. We just can't wait to start our lives together as husband and wife! I will definitely not miss those late nights driving home, barely awake and able to crawl into bed. I'm sure Mike will not miss driving home super late either on the nights I beg him to stay just another 5 minutes which turns into hours. I loved our long weekend and now it is back to the real life of school and work. Mike has class from 8-8 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and works 7-7 Tuesdays and Thursdays and some Saturdays so I always complain about not seeing him enough. I just have to be grateful for the few hours I get to see him every night. I can't wait to become his wife so he is forced to come home at night and see me :) We have 2 months until the wedding and still so many things to do but I'm excited and I can't wait till I become Mrs. Whitney Ann Smith!
